Actually you expected that defense may be boosted, right? That's why you sent so many LFs. But what you didn't know was that I hid my main fleet well so you never saw them. Without my main fleet, only LLs can't kill your fleet.

Yoda actually it was not that I couldn't do anything. I had 3 choices:
1. Let my main fleet and the bait fleet to fight with you without building LLs, you will lose about 18m and I will lose about 16m in the battle, and the net loss depends on of much debris field we got.
2. Move my main fleet away, try to harvest the debris field in 1 second after the attack, and hope that a moon will appear. In this case, I will lose neraly 4m, and I may get around 2m debris field, but it's more likely that you will still get all the DF because you can control the arriving time.
3. Let my main fleet and the bait fleet to fight with you and instantly build 1300 LLs. That's what I did and cost me about 90000DM. The result is posted here in the combat report.

Deff Boostern ist einfach nur nooblike und unfair, boostern in allen ehren aber bei Fleet und deff sollten sie einen schlussstrich ziehen.

naja ... wenn man sonst nichts kann boostert man halt mit DM den Gegner tot. Shit happend. Bei einem normalen Abfang bzw def mit ner Fleet würde ich auch gratzen ... so leider ... keine große Leistung.
Yeah I don't like to boost defense either, and OMG it cost so much so I don't think I'll do it again recently. I was trying to use only my main fleet to do this, but he just sent too much fleet so I had to build LLs.
Well i mean... boosting Deff in the last moment is still dirty, but at least you were honest and not telling some bs

Moons are everywhere now, but it's still quite expensive for me at the moment, so I'm looking for a chance to get a moon from other people's fleet.
Finally this guy comes, but he sent much more fleet than I expected. I thought he had only around 250 cruisers, but he actually has more than 500! And I thought that he wouldn't send light fighters and would attack with only cruisers, battleships, and battlecruisers, but he sent LFs instead of BCs.
After simulation I found that if I don't boost light lasers, it will be a draw, and even if I get all the debris field, it's still nearly 0 profit. However, I know that the attacker will get at least 2~3 million of the DF first, so it will turn out that I will lose about 2~3M, although the attacker may lose more.
So to make it profitable I decided to boost 1300 light lasers. To my surprise, it cost me about 90000DM to instantly build them, that's quite a large amount to me. It's probably because that I haven't got nanite factory on this planet yet.
The attacker did a final check spy about 30 second before the fight. Of course I didn't let him see the light lasers and my main fleet, so the battle still occurred. Unfortunately, I didn't get a moon, and the attacker got about 3.4m of the DF (a little more than I expected), so my net profit is only about 4.5m. Actually I don't think it's a good fight because I spent 2.6m resources and 90000DM but only got 4.5m profit (and didn't get a moon). Maybe I'll sell these light lasers someday, because I think it's a waste to spend so much resource to build defense. Well at least I got more than 5000 honor points in this fight, and am not a bandit now.
